Sauna Retreat — North Vancouver In collaboration with Nootka Saunas
A full backyard retreat built around a custom Nootka sauna. We designed and installed a natural stone patio using 2″ tumbled San Juan slate — a material that handles the North Shore climate well and develops character over time. Two custom cedar planter beds frame the space, filled with shade-resistant planting suited to the site conditions. We also built and levelled the base for Nootka to set the sauna on, making sure everything was properly prepared before they arrived.
The finished space came together as a cohesive retreat — stone underfoot, greenery around the edges, Adirondack chairs in place, and a sauna that looks like it belongs there. The kind of backyard you actually use.
