Cedar is our most common choice — it’s naturally rot-resistant, handles the North Shore humidity well, and finishes cleanly. Fir can achieve a similar look, while being more cost effective – but requires a multi-stage staining process. We also work with steel and composite materials where the design direction calls for it.
We have exclusively worked with Nootka Saunas for our outdoor living spaces. More information on Nootka Saunas products and pricing can be found here: Nootka Saunas
Yes — much of the North Shore requires exactly this. Sloped sites affect footing depth, post heights, and how the structure ties into the grade. We design for the terrain as a starting point, not an afterthought.
In most cases, yes. Attached structures and anything above a certain square footage trigger permit requirements in North Vancouver and West Vancouver. We assess this at the quote stage and handle the application where it’s needed.
Every project is different and largely dependant on material selection, permit requirements, and ground conditions. We’re happy to walk you through our pricing and different material options on site.
