Outdoor Living — North Shore

We design and build outdoor living spaces across the North Shore and Sea to Sky, from covered pergola structures to integrated saunas that turn properties into destinations.

Covered Pergola & Patio Structures

A pergola is what takes an outdoor space from a yard to a destination. We build covered pergola and patio structures in cedar, steel, and mixed materials — pitched roofs, flat roofs, open beam — attached to the house or freestanding. Every structure is designed around the architecture of the home and the grade of the site. The goal is always the same: a structure that looks like it belongs there and performs through a Pacific Northwest winter.

Sauna Installation & Integration

A sauna is only as good as how well it fits into the space around it. We source, site, and integrate prefab saunas into outdoor builds so the result feels considered — not dropped in after the fact. Siting, base preparation, access, and how the sauna relates to the rest of the outdoor space are all part of how we approach every installation.

Our Process

Every outdoor living project starts with a site visit. We look at the property, understand what success looks like for you, and develop a clear plan before any work begins. From there it’s one team, one point of contact, and a timeline that’s honest from the start. The team you meet is the team that builds.

Outdoor Living FAQ2026-06-30T05:56:26+00:00
Cedar is our most common choice — it’s naturally rot-resistant, handles the North Shore humidity well, and finishes cleanly. Fir can achieve a similar look, while being more cost effective – but requires a multi-stage staining process. We also work with steel and composite materials where the design direction calls for it.
We have exclusively worked with Nootka Saunas for our outdoor living spaces. More information on Nootka Saunas products and pricing can be found here: Nootka Saunas
Yes — much of the North Shore requires exactly this. Sloped sites affect footing depth, post heights, and how the structure ties into the grade. We design for the terrain as a starting point, not an afterthought.
In most cases, yes. Attached structures and anything above a certain square footage trigger permit requirements in North Vancouver and West Vancouver. We assess this at the quote stage and handle the application where it’s needed.

Every project is different and largely dependant on material selection, permit requirements, and ground conditions. We’re happy to walk you through our pricing and different material options on site.
